Way Away in WA 2023 – Day 82 – Streaky Bay

Our intended destinations around Streaky Bay over two days

Back in Streaky Bay. Our last visit was in 2017. It has a nice laidback atmosphere which is perfect after our last few days of long drives.

In the morning Streaky Bay was…streaky!

Cape Bauer Loop Road explores the area northwest of Streaky Bay.

Hally’s Beach sand dunes

Whistling Rocks – we ended our walk there on a high note. There were holes not in view just below the lookout that emitted whistling whoosh sounds from the wave action far below.

Down on the rock shelf, small blowholes blew and bubbled with each swell.

The cliffs near the blowholes.

When the tide is high (cue Debbie Harry) and there is a very big swell, blowholes emit spray through holes well up above the cliff line.

Cape Bauer. We had a good time but didn’t see Jack.

Kerrin McEvoy statue – honouring a local who became a champion jockey, winning 3 Melbourne Cups. Streaky Bay Jetty is in the background – it was a long walk but it was wharf it.

Kerrin was happy because there were no scratchings.
