Cowaramup is the centre for dairying in the district.

The answer to the Ultimate Question of Life, the Universe and Everything! Cowaramup is home to a herd of 42 life sized fibreglass Friesian cows and calves wandering the streets, parks and shops of the village.

Cowaramup – cows are celebrated here but the name is a Noongar word for place of the Purple crowned lorikeet.

Vasse Felix was the first winery in the Margaret River region. The Mediterranean climate, ancient gravel loam soils (good drainage) and maritime influence (close to the both Indian and Southern Ocean) provide ideal conditions for premium viticulture.

Margaret River is a young wine producing region. The first vines were only planted at Vasse Felix in 1967.

Opening a bottle of wine is easy, but it’s also easy to screw it up.

Where the good ones are kept. Vasse Felix is a highly respected winery.

Indijup Beach has a natural spa in the rock pools.

Kevin Parker from the band Tame Impala has a house here and recorded Innerspeaker and Currents in his home studio overlooking the bay. Wave House had previously been used as a recording studio for the Beastie Boys and Fat Boy Slim. Great vibe!

Being in Tame Impala territory, I was lucky there was no sign of Trevor today.
