We had an appointment to attend to in Perth so took the opportunity to also catch up on washing as well a sleep in after our full and busy days.
We managed a short walk to Lake Joondalup before a lower leg skin cancer removal in the afternoon. Another late drive back to Margaret River in the evening. All good except sadly all Grade 4 and 5 walks are off the list for the next week or so.

Welcome to Lake Joondalup – Welcome swallows on the boardwalk out onto the lake.

Not many water birds around – just the usuals like this Coot…

…and Pacific black duck.

There were many Splendid Fairywrens active in the bushes and on the ground along the edge of the lake. In the west of Australia, the male breeding plumage is a violet colour.

Willie wagtails have been seen nearly every day of our journey. Even in the outback, they are on road kill eating the flies.

Another example of typical Australian naming convention – the Long-billed corella. Let’s not complicate things.
