Well it wasn’t as sweet a homecoming as Bilbo’s but we returned home to sort some things out and hope to resume our vacation (and blog posts) sometime in the next fortnight.

An overcast and somewhat bleak start to the day travelling from Moree to Goondiwindi. This is a brigalow tree – a wattle whose silvery bluish leaves add beauty to the western scrubs.

There is huge amount of cotton grown in the central west. Bales are everywhere in the fields and on large trucks. Two local boll weevils grew up together here – one was noted for its massive rostrum and strength while the other faded into obscurity – it was the lesser of two weevils. (Thanks to Russell Crowe for this one).

Farmland on the Newell Highway

On a satisfaction scale for grey nomads, going to an RV Dump Point scored a lot of Number 2’s.

Wobbly Boot Hotel in Boggabilla – the wobbly boot is surprisingly light – it’s made from carbon dyed ox hide.

Meet Patty the Pied butcherbird in a poplar box at Wyaga on the Gore Highway east of Goondiwindi.

We can tick this one off from our bucket list

The Big Teepee in Millmerran

Sheep between Millmerran and Pittsworth – Hey, what are ewes up to?

They were baaa-ing loudly – I herd them well.

Grey Nomad’s get their exercise by pushing their luck.
I hope to share more adventures with you soon – stay safe everyone.
