South Australia 2019 – Day 13 – Adelaide

After yesterday’s wild weather, the rain set in today so we went shopping in the Adelaide CBD. Lots of lovely old buildings and vast array of retail opportunities on and off Rundle Mall.

13-5

You’ve seen one shopping centre, you’ve see a mall.

Except when they have giant stainless steel spheres. Most people find them interesting except the flat-earthers because the only thing they fear is sphere itself.

13-2a

The old Colonial Mutual Building – ready for Ghostbusters 3.

13-2

13-1

Who you gonna call?

13-4

The famous bronze pig sculptures. Even with all the rain, nothing could sow-er our day.

13-4a

The fourth pig felt like it was taken for grunted.

13-6

Some of the lovely old buildings in central Adelaide.

13-7

Mary Poppins in Stranger Things Season 3.

13-8

We made a pilgrimage to the home of Fru-Chocs – beloved chocolate treat of South Australians and some interstate devotees.

13-23

The mouth of the Onkaparinga River at Port Noarlunga.

13-22

A lone surfer about to tackle the blown out conditions.

13-24

The cliff line along the Esplanade

13-25

Coast Motel and Apartments – our lodgings for the night opposite the ocean.

13-25a

Surfer Steve lives at the motel. I admire his positivity and glass half full approach to life. He wants to be a champion surfer but it is only a pipe dream.

13-26

Ominous skies late in the day with gale warnings current. We wait to see if the ferry to Kangaroo Island will be operating in the morning.
