Our morning was exploring Broken Hill by foot after a visit to Macs Bakery for authentic cornish pasties. Above is the Broken Hill Post Office.

Line of Lode above the town centre

Trades Hall

The original railway station – now a museum.

The original locomotive used at Broken Hill – part of our family history.

The Silver City Comet – also used by family members in the past.

The Big Ant

Argent Street, Broken Hill

The Living Desert is a very large fenced reserve with native animals and plants largely free from ferals.

The locals

Babbler

Mulga (Acacia aneura)

Rock sida – a common plant of outback ridges

Brachyscome daisy

We went to the Liiving Desert sculpture site to see the rock sculptures and one of the best sunsets ever.

A slow drive back into Broken Hill to avoid adding to the roadkill.
