Rest Areas give a chance to take in the vast landscapes – also you also never know how far the next toilet is.

There are thousands of goats on the highway in groups up to 30. I am not kidding you.

There are arrays of collections along the side of the Barrier Highway – hubcaps, TV’s, thongs, boots, bras to name a few.

Despite the empty tables here, Emmdale Roadhouse had a brisk morning trade – most travellers on the Barrier Highway tend to stop as it is the only habitation in the 261km from Cobar to Willcannia.
